Damian Conforti focuses his practice on federal, New York and New Jersey criminal defense, corporate compliance and investigations, commercial/business litigation, and insurance fraud.

Damian has defended individual and corporate clients accused of a wide array of offenses from D.W.I. and drug offenses to defrauding the federal government. He handles each aspect of the defense, from pre-indictment investigation and negotiation to achieve early, effective resolutions to motion practice and trial when necessary. Damian also routinely counsels both individuals and businesses and conducts internal investigations on their behalf, whether in response to government subpoenas or as victims of crimes. Damian draws on significant trial experience in both state and federal court, having tried over a dozen matters to verdict. His background in criminal law and trial experience has enabled him to represent various businesses in all types of commercial disputes including the investigation and prosecution of civil insurance fraud claims.

Prior to joining Podvey Meanor, Damian served as an assistant prosecutor with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office where he handled hundreds of juvenile and indictable matters from the grand jury investigative stage through trial and appeal. The matters included burglary, theft, drug offenses, aggravated sexual assault, armed robbery, attempted homicide and homicide.

While at Seton Hall University, School of Law Damian was a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and received numerous moot court awards including the 2001 Excellence in Moot Court Award upon graduation. He also worked pro bono in the Supreme Court of New Jersey's municipal prosecutor program, serving as a Municipal Prosecutor in the City of Jersey City.

Damian is admitted to practice law before the state and federal bars of New Jersey and New York. He is a member of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey and the Sussex County Bar Association.
